Shipping Containers / Welds / Fillets at Weldable Twist Locks

Decundi Inspection Services carry out inspection of shipping containers wherein the inspections that we carry out is to check for marine corrosion accelerated by seawater with a common specific form being Accelerated Low Water Corrosion (ALWC) in submerged or tidal zones. ALWC is a recognized actuality where corrosion rates far exceed normal marine rates, often in the low water zone of structures like quay walls, pilings, or ship hulls.

We check the roof panel for holes due to possible stagnant seawater, floor, end wall panel, side wall panel, front end frame, forklift pockets, threshold plate, door assembly, corner post, Rectangular Tubular Section at corner fitting for Twist Locks. Where applicable we check for the integrity of the welds at weldable Twist Locks and all welded parts on the shipping containers. In addition, Decundi will also identify to the owner regarding whether the corrosion is crevice corrosion, pitting corrosion or galvanic corrosion.
